ABOUT THE EVENT

Hidden between rows of fruit trees, are the beautiful and rarely visited ‘Dragonfly Ponds’. Walking down from the restaurant through the (usually locked) gate and following the path through rows of tall espaliered Apple and Pear trees, you very suddenly emerge into a hidden oasis of lush emerald green lawns and large natural ponds filled with plants, with a picturesque little bridge.

The Autumn glory of the deciduous trees is what this visit will be about. The garden is lushly planted with exotic trees, both in the ground and in very large pots, some of which are pruned into fascinating shapes and some simply left to provide welcome shade on a hot day.

The ponds are surrounded by a vast collection of feature pots and plants, and there is so much to catch your eye and quietly study – not least – a magnificent large metalwork Dragonfly and the large, strategically placed rocks.

With an impressive collection of ornamental species in autumn colour, this garden is not to be missed!
